|
|
When I come looking at cPanel and then work my way into my webmail, I get several microsoft Security Certificate warnings.
https://w9fz.com:2083/ for instance. I go in through cPanel to get at my webmail when I'm on the road. If there's another way to do webmail, without going in via cPanel, I'd consider that.
But my bigger question is about Security Certificates. Does a QTH.com certificate get automatically loaded? Is this a case where I should consider purchasing a certificate for w9fz.com? Any thoughts? How/where do I take the next step if there is a step to be taken?
Thanks

Hi Bruce.
Our servers have an SSL certificate on them, so you can fix the security errors by using an https URL that uses our name, rather than your own, to avoid the unnecessary cost of purchasing your own certificate.
To view webmail directly:
Non-SSL: http://www.w9fz.com/webmail (which redirects to http://www.w9fz.com:2095)
SSL: https://www#.qth.com:2096/ (replace # with the server number you are on)
For example, since w9fz.com is currently on our www5.qth.com server, your SSL-enabled Webmail link would be:
https://www5.qth.com:2096/
Does this help?

Hi Scott:
Excellent reply--right to the point. I will go experiment and let you know what I find.
If I were to buy a security certif, do you help me install it? No, I can't justify it--just asking :-) .

In order to install an SSL certificate for any hosting customer (on any server), you must have a unique IP address assigned to your site. QTH.com charges $5/mo for your site to have its own IP address. Then, included in that $5/mo, we will purchase a RapidSSL certificate from GeoTrust, for your domain.
So, yes, we not only help install it, we do all the work. You don't have to do anything but open your wallet.
